10. Read, Pair , Share

Read, Pair, Share is an adaptation of a partner activity. It involves partners reading together, stopping after each paragraph, and answer the questions who, what, when, where, and how. Whenever the partners can not find the answer they return to the text and look for it together again. 

• The teacher will begin by introducing the question words, who what when, where, and how. 
• The teacher will then model each step of the strategy.
• The teacher will then model how the students will work with their partners.
• The teacher will move on to model how the students modify the questions.
• Then the teacher will pair the students in the classroom.
• The teacher will discuss the the assignment.
• Then the teacher will assess to identify the need for additional instruction or guided practice, meaning the teacher will circulate the classroom and observe the students completing this strategy and decide what needs to be readdressed or discussed.
