Science Strategies (Attribute Charting)

Science Strategies 
1.  Attribute Charting
-Also called semantic feature analysis
-Is a way of visually organizing information to support student's understanding of the attributes of the concept being studied.
-Supports ELL's because the chart they make clearly illustrates their understanding of the main attributes of a topic. 

  • The teacher must begin by choosing the concept to chart
  • Discuss attributes or traits
  • Explore the material (meaning engaging students)
  • Use the charted material in a follow-up assignment or activity
  • Add a sense of technology(Microsoft Excel)
